- Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kraft Foods, Inc. – 1989 to 1991. Previously served as Kraft Foods' President and Chief Executive Officer, and President and Chief Operating Officer – 1982 to 1991
- Executive positions at Heublein, Inc., including Senior Vice President of Foods and Chairman of Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation (KFC) Worldwide; Senior Vide President of Marketing for its Kentucky Fried Chicken subsidiary; Vice President and General Manager of Heublein's Grocery Products Group; Group Vice President of Heublein's international operations – 1971 to 1982
