The Elektra Entertainment Group (EEG) is proud to announce the creation of a new record label, TRC (The Record Company), Sylvia Rhone, Chairman and CEO of Elektra, announced today. TRC's initial signing is the band DDT, from Vancouver, Canada. DDT's music is a powerful fusion of edgy pop rock with elements of funk and rap. The band is currently searching for a producer to work the controls alongside bandmember Brian Howes, for their TRC debut. Ms. Rhone indicated the label would primarily focus on rock, and be based in Los Angeles. "TRC will provide the kind of organic environment needed for artists to develop naturally, while at the same time benefiting from Elektra's unique support system," stated Ms. Rhone. "We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship."Lars Ulrich and Tim Duffy are partners in the new record label with product being marketed and distributed by Elektra. DDT is scheduled to begin recording their first album for TRC some time in June.
