Lorenzo di Bonaventura has signed a new contract and becomes sole President of Warner Bros. Worldwide Theatrical Production, it was announced today by Robert A. Daly and Terry Semel, Chairmen and Co-Chief Executive Officers, Warner Bros.
Di Bonaventura takes over full responsibility for oversight of development and production of all feature films for Warner Bros., which for the past two years he shared with Bill Gerber.
In making the announcement, Messrs. Daly and Semel said, "Lorenzo is an exceptionally talented executive, excelling in both the creative and business aspects of the filmmaking. He has great creative instincts and relationships, he has a well-round, multi-faceted understanding of the process and is an extraordinary problem solver and resourceful thinker. We look to him to continue the Warner Bros. tradition of producing a diverse slate of high quality, popular motion pictures."
Di Bonaventura joined Warner Bros. in 1989 as Production Executive and was named Vice President of Production soon after. He became Senior Vice President of Production in 1993, Executive Vice President of Production in January, 1995, and with Gerber, President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Theatrical Production in March 1996. Prior to joining the company, he served in various creative, production and distribution capacities at Columbia Pictures.
