Bill Gerber, who has served as President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Theatrical Production since 1996, has entered into an exclusive, multi-year production agreement with Warner Bros., it was announced today by Robert A. Daly and Terry Semel, Chairmen and Co-Chief Executive Officers, Warner Bros. and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Theatrical Production.
"Billy is one of the most creative and dynamic talents to have ever worked at Warner Bros., and we know he will be a great producer for us," said Daly and Semel. "He has been involved with some of our most successful films, and we look forward to him continuing to make an important contribution to Warner Bros."
During his 12 years at Warner Bros., Gerber has been integral to such hit films as "Unforgiven," "Twister," "Selena,"GoodFellas," "Heat," "JFK" and, most recently, "L.A. Confidential," which he discovered and shepherded with Courtenay Valenti.
"Billy is very creative on all levels (from story to casting to final cut), he is very well respected by talent (in front of and behind the camera), and he has a keen insight into the tastes of audiences," said di Bonaventura. "I predict Billy will become one of Warner Bros. most important producers."
Gerber joined Warner Bros. in 1986 as Vice President, Production, becoming Senior Vice President in that department in 1990, Executive Vice President in 1992, and President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Theatrical Production ,with di Bonaventura, in March 1996. Prior to joining Warner Bros., Gerber was a partner in Lookout Management, where he managed such rock groups as The Cars and Devo.
