Expands Commitment to the Greater China Marketplace

SEATTLE, WA (U.S.A.) and HONG KONG (S.A.R., PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA) –– To better serve the Greater China marketplace, Tegic Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of America Online, Inc., today announced the opening of an office in Hong Kong. Tegic Communications produces T9® Text Input software, which enables users of text-enabled mobile devices, including mobile phones and PDAs, to write and send SMS text messages, mobile instant messages and e-mails more quickly and efficiently.

The new Hong Kong office will offer expanded customer and marketing support for Tegic’s family of T9 software licensees in Greater China, including Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan. The Hong Kong office joins Asia offices in Beijing, Bangalore and Tokyo.

By incorporating T9 Text Input software into mobile communications products, companies are solving the fundamental problem of how to quickly and easily type and send messages.
