
STAMFORD, CT - Michael Diamond, 38, joins Time Warner Cable as Group Vice President for Competitive Strategies, it was announced today by Bill Goetz, Executive Vice President of Operations. In this new position, Diamond will work closely with cable divisions serving Ohio (Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton and Akron), Los Angeles, Kansas City, Memphis and Waco, TX on competitive strategies to increase their market share. "We are fortunate to have someone with Michael's business experience and strategic insights join the cable operations side of the company," said Goetz. "In his new role, Michael will work with us on sales strategies, pricing/bundling initiatives and improvements in our day-to-day operations, all with an eye toward strengthening our competitive position and passing along best practices." Diamond served as "chief of staff" to Don Logan, Group Chairman at Time Warner Inc., who oversees Time Inc. magazines, AOL in addition to Time Warner Cable, since September 2002. His earlier positions at Time Warner Inc., included Vice President, International Strategy for AOL Time Warner Strategy and Investments; Vice President, Strategic Investing for AOL Time Warner Investment Corporation and Executive Director for Strategy and Business Development for Time Warner Digital Media. Diamond joined Time Warner Inc. in 1997 as Associate Director for Corporate Strategy and Planning. He served as an Associate in the Media and Entertainment Practice for Booz Allen & Hamilton Inc., both in London and New York from 1995-1997. Earlier in his career, Diamond was active in the theatre business. He served as General Manager for Paines Plough Theatre Company in London (1992-93); Development Associate for the Manhattan Theatre Club in New York (1990-92) and Associate Managing Director for the Yale Repertory Theater in New Haven, CT. Diamond earned an MBA at the London School of Business (1995) and has an MFA from Yale University's School of Drama (1990). He earned his undergraduate degree at St. John's College at Oxford University in England (1987). He resides in Rowayton, CT with his wife, Amy, and their two children.
