Time Warner Cable of New York Launches Movies on Demand and Subscription Video on Demand

New York, NY - Time Warner Cable digital television viewers in New York City will now have more options at the touch of a button -Movies On Demand ("MOD") and Subscription Video on Demand ("SVOD"). The announcement was made by Time Warner Cable of New York City President Barry Rosenblum.

This state-of-the-art service enables viewers to choose, at any time of the day or night, from up to 100 digital-quality movies through an easily navigated onscreen video library. Once a selection is made, the customer can view it in its entirety, or pause, fast forward, rewind and watch it as many times as they wish for up to 24 hours. Total VCR functionality is available through the existing digital box and remote control and no new equipment is needed.

With MOD, recent box office hits are priced at $3.95 and many big screen favorites can be seen for $1.95. The video libraries of newly released movies and big screen favorites are updated every week. In addition to MOD, Subscription Video on Demand ("SVOD") will provide premium channel viewers with unlimited access to video options from their respective libraries, including HBO on Demand, Cinemax on Demand, Showtime on Demand and The Movie Channel on Demand at a total monthly cost of $6.95. SVOD video libraries will include episodes from award-winning series such HBO's The Sopranos, Sex in the City and Showtime's Resurrection Boulevard and Soul Food, as well as many movie titles. Movies on Demand will be available to almost half of Time Warner Cable's digital customers in Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island within the next two weeks. By year's end, all 500,000 Time Warner Cable digital customers will have access to MOD and SVOD.

To see the full menu of choices, a viewer tunes to Channel 1000 for a comprehensive MOD guide with detailed descriptions of each movie. The SVOD libraries are available as follows: HBO on Demand is Channel 200, Cinemax on Demand is Channel 210, Showtime on Demand is Channel 220 and The Movie Channel on Demand is Channel 230.
