
The Single ' Get Over Yourself' Breaks Record for the Biggest-Selling Debut for a New Group; Marks First Female Group To Debut At No. 1 With Their First Single;
SEASON FINALE EPISODE AIRS FRIDAY, APRIL 6 WITH THE DEBUT CONCERT OF EDEN'S CRUSH BURBANK, CA - The five women of Eden's Crush, the group that was created by The WB in its hit series POPSTARS, has the No. 1-selling single in the country for the second week in a row, topping last week's record-setting sales figures, with their debut song "Get Over Yourself" according to SoundScan, and debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 8 with a bullet. Next up for the women of Eden's Crush is the season finale of POPSTARS which is set to air on The WB on Friday, April 6. Airing at 8:30-9:00 p.m. ET, the final installment features the behind-the-scenes excitement and front stage seats for Eden's Crush first concert performance at The Palace in Hollywood. The WB has been the motor that has propelled Eden's Crush to being a tremendous asset for many divisions of AOL-Time Warner. In addition to breaking a sensational new act for Warner Music's London-Sire Records and achieving record ratings for The WB, "Get Over Yourself" was downloaded an unheard of 66,422 times from AOL in one four-day period. (more) POPSTARS Single Tops the Charts - 2 The women, whose real-life experiences recording their debut album are being chronicled on The WB on Friday nights with the hit series POPSTARS, also became the first female group to debut at No. 1 with their first single. While O-Town, the group formed by the older-skewing ABC in "Making the Band," sold 42,000 singles in its debut, The WB's audience profile led to sales of nearly double that for Eden's Crush, which sold more than 77,000 singles in its first week and 78,000 in the second week to become the biggest-selling debut for a new group. The commercial single includes both vocal and instrumental versions of "Get Over Yourself," which viewers might recognize as the show's opening theme music, as well as a Spanish-language version and personal messages from the members of Eden's Crush: Ana Maria Lombo, Maile Misajon, Nicole Scherzinger, Ivette Sosa and Rosanna Tavarez. Selected by a committee of music industry professionals from thousands of hopefuls, Eden's Crush recently recorded their debut CD with 14-time Grammy Award winner David Foster serving as executive producer. The disc is slated for release on May 1 on London-Sire Records, in association with Foster's 143 Records, both Warner Music Group companies. POPSTARS is a Stone Stanley Entertainment Production.
