"JACK & JILL" RETURNS AT THE TOP OF THE HILL AS DRAMA SCORES ALL-TIME HIGH RATING IN ADULTS & WOMEN 18-34 IN SEASON PREMIERE & BEATS CBS IN ADULTS AND WOMEN 18-34 & PERSONS & WOMEN 12-34

"DAWSON'S CREEK" BEATS "ED" "MILLIONAIRE" & CBS COMEDIES IN WOMEN 18-34 & 12-34 AS THE WB ACHIEVES ANOTHER NIGHT OF TRIPLE-DIGIT GROWTH

BURBANK, CA (January 11, 2001)—JACK & JILL, the second piece of The WB's strategy to program all original dramas in the Wednesday, 9 p.m. hour, made a triumphant return to the schedule by scoring SERIES RECORDS IN ADULTS 18-34 (2.1) AND WOMEN 18-34 (3.0).

The romantic comedy, which was up against stiff competition from Fox' Temptation Island, an original West Wing and first-run comedies on ABC in its season premiere, also defeated CBS in every 18-34 demo and persons and women 12-34.

JACK & JILL also kept The WB's momentum going by scoring triple-digit year-to-year gains in all 18-34 demos—adults (+133%), women (+131%) and men (+175%). It also scored phenomenal gains in persons 12-34 (+36%), women 12-34 (+47%), men 12-34 (+38%), adults 18-49 (+114%), women 18-49 (+91%), men 18-49 (+167%), and in households and total viewers (both +21%).

DAWSON'S CREEK led off the night with a second-place time-period finish in women 18-34 (4.8) and women 12-34 (4.9), defeating Ed, Millionaire and CBS comedies. DAWSON'S CREEK also beat CBS and NBC in adults 18-34 (3.7), and persons 12-34 (3.7). The coming-of-age drama also achieved tremendous year-to-year growth for The WB. The episode was up +118% in adults 18-34, +109% in women 18-34, +170% in men 18-34, +68% in persons 12-34, +58% in women 12-34, +85% in men 12-34, +92% in adults 18-49, +78% in women 18-49, +125% in men 18-49, +31% n households and +43% in total viewers.

For the night, The WB achieved year-to-year growth in nine demos, including adults 18-34 (+123%), women 18-34 (+117%) and men 18-34 (+171%), as well as in households and total viewers.
