LIFE Magazine to be Distributed in The Washington Post
January 03, 2007

Starting Thursday, January 11, LIFE Magazine will be distributed in The Washington Post. With the recent addition of The Washington Post, and several other newspapers, LIFE’s circulation increases from 12 million to 13 million this month.

LIFE, relaunched in October 2004 as a weekly magazine, appears in 103 newspapers across the country. Ninety-three percent of the papers carrying LIFE distribute the magazine on Friday.

Vista reader engagement research proves that quality matters: LIFE’s high quality editorial content, coated stock, increased brightness and bound and trimmed format lead to higher scores than other supplements.

In November, the most popular page in LIFE, the back-page Picture Puzzle, became available as a stand-alone book, Life Picture Puzzle: Can You Spot the Differences? Almost overnight it became a New York Times bestseller. The power of the LIFE brand and the loyal following of its readers was a main driver in the success of the book, since the primary promotional vehicle was a weekly mention in LIFE magazine. After only two months, the book has gone back to press three times.

LIFE magazine is the perfect fit for millions of Americans heading into the weekend, helping them transition from work to life every Friday. LIFE inspires us to make the most of the weekend — the two days when we embrace life by reconnecting with family and friends, and by taking the time to do the things we love to do. Through vibrant writing, heartwarming stories and breathtaking photography, LIFE offers an intimate look at the personalities, places and images that shape our culture. LIFE arrives every weekend in over 100 newspapers nationwide. LIFE’s website can be accessed at www.life.com.
