
Emmy Award-winning producer and respected television executive Hilary Estey McLoughlin, who, during her tenure at Telepictures Productions, has developed and produced some of the biggest hits in first-run syndication, including The Rosie O’Donnell Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has been named President, Telepictures Productions it was announced today by Bruce Rosenblum, President, Warner Bros. Television Group, to whom she will report.
Having worked her way up through the ranks since joining Lorimar-Telepictures as Director of Development in 1989 and most recently serving as Executive Vice President & General Manager since 2002, Estey McLoughlin will now oversee one of the leading producers of first-run strips in the syndication marketplace.

Estey McLoughlin replaces Jim Paratore who had served as President, Telepictures Productions since in the company’s inception in 1992. Paratore announced last week that he is launching a full-service television production company, paraMedia inc., which has an exclusive overall deal with the Warner Bros. Television Group.
“There is no one more qualified to lead Telepictures than Hilary,” said Paratore. “She was my first hire when we started the company and has been an important part of all of the success that we have had over the years. This is just about as seamless of a transition as you can have. The company won’t miss a beat.”

Estey McLoughlin has helped to build the non-scripted production division into one of the industry’s top producers of first-run syndicated programming, responsible for some 17 syndicated strips, including long-running shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Extra, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, Jenny Jones, Change of Heart, Judge Mathis and elimiDATE. Telepictures Productions’ series have received 41 Daytime Emmys, including Outstanding Talk Show for eight of the last nine years.
For the 2006-07 season, Telepictures is producing six nationally syndicated strips. The season includes: the freshman season of The Dr. Keith Ablow Show, a one-hour, daily talk show, hosted by author and psychiatrist, Dr. Keith Ablow, which will help individuals, couples and families cope with the personal challenges they face in today’s world and develop strategies that can help them lead more fulfilling lives; the second season of The Tyra Banks Show, a one-hour, daily talk show serving as a young woman’s guide to life, hosted by Tyra Banks; the fourth season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, winner of three consecutive Daytime Emmy awards for Outstanding Talk Show and two for Outstanding Talk Show Host; the eighth season of the hour-long court series Judge Mathis; the 13th season of the pop culture newsmagazine strip Extra; and the legendary weekly variety show Showtime at the Apollo. Telepictures has also successfully partnered with AOL to launch a first-of-its-kind 24/7 on-demand entertainment news network on the web, TMZ.com.
Prior to her promotion to Executive Vice President & General Manager in July 2002, Estey McLoughlin served three years as Senior Vice President, Programming & Development, where she was responsible for expanding the company’s development and production activities in New York. Among the series she was involved in launching are The Rosie O’Donnell Show, Queen Latifah and Change of Heart.
Before that, Estey McLoughlin served as Vice President, Programming, Telepictures Productions, following 18 months as an Executive Producer of The Rosie O’Donnell Show, where she worked alongside O’Donnell, winning the 1998 and 1999 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Talk Show.
Preceding her move to Executive Producer, Estey McLoughlin was Vice President, Development for Telepictures Productions, where she was integral in the development, launch and day-to-day production of The Rosie O’Donnell Show. While in this post, she also supervised the company’s other on-air series and program development for first-run syndication, cable and network daytime programming, and was actively involved in all facets of the creative process from initial pitch through development and on to production.
Estey McLoughlin was involved in developing and launching such series as Jenny Jones, Celebrity Justice, The Sharon Osbourne Show, Change of Heart and HBO’s Taxicab Confessions.
Estey McLoughlin began her career in 1984 as a Research Analyst for Seltel, Inc. She joined the Lorimar-Telepictures research department in 1986, holding various titles including Senior Research Analyst, Manager and Director of Research. She was named Director, Development, Lorimar-Telepictures Productions in 1989 and was promoted to Vice President, Development, Telepictures Production upon its inception in 1992.
Estey McLoughlin is a graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcasting and Film.
