America Online Introduces Broadband Radio@AOL
November 18, 2002

Dulles, VA - November 18, 2002 - America Online, Inc., the world's leading interactive services company, today announced the launch of Broadband Radio@AOL, the first online radio service designed exclusively for AOL Broadband members. Offering the same great features made popular by Radio@AOL, a service embraced by millions of AOL members who tune in every month, Broadband Radio@AOL is available only with AOL 8.0 and brings a new set of features and enhanced functionality that take full advantage of the broadband connection.

"It has been a tremendous year for us, as we have extended our successful radio service across AOL's properties," said Kevin Conroy, Senior Vice President and General Manager for AOL Entertainment. "We are thrilled to now introduce a totally new online radio listening experience through a product that has been made for members with a high-speed connection. With features like CD-quality sound and 'commercial free' stations, Broadband Radio@AOL provides online radio fans with the easiest and best way to enjoy our vast range of music, news, sports and entertainment programming."

"Accessing audio and video content online are among the top activities of AOL Broadband members and Broadband Radio@AOL delivers on AOL's promise of focusing on members and developing features and products they want and ask for," said Shawn Hardin, Senior Vice President of Programming for AOL Broadband. Broadband Radio@AOL's mix of programming includes professionally produced in-house programming, celebrity guest programming and live streams from regional terrestrial radio stations and Internet-based audio services. Its easy-to-use design features play and volume controls, station descriptions, current artist and track information and a convenient buy button that gives consumers the ability to easily purchase music they're listening to.

Broadband Radio@AOL is the first product powered by AOL's new Ultravox (TM) technology, a streaming platform developed by AOL that improves the radio listening experience. The new technology provides quicker player load times and dramatically reduces buffering.
