Jeremy Langmead Appointed Editor-In-Chief Of Wallpaper* Jeremy is one of Britain's foremost editors, with a string of critical and commercial successes. He edited the Sunday Times Style magazine from 1995-2000, and Nova, the ground-breaking women's fashion title. He has also worked on magazines ranging from Tatler to Elle Decoration in the UK, and he currently heads up the lifestyle features desk on the London Evening Standard. Mike Soutar, managing director of Wallpaper* Group, says: "Wallpaper* is committed to serving its sophisticated, media-literate audience around the world. Our readers and advertisers want and deserve the best, and this appointment underlines our determination to produce an outstanding magazine. "Jeremy is a very well respected journalist and commentator within the fashion and style arenas - he's a name in everyone's contact book - and I'm delighted that he will be at the helm of this flagship brand." Jeremy says: "I was reluctant to leave the Evening Standard, but the lure of Wallpaper* was too much to resist. Editing a magazine that reaches a global readership with an inspiring mix of interiors, design, fashion and travel - all the important things in life, of course - will be a wonderful challenge. It's already a great magazine - now I'm looking forward to working with the team to take it on to the next level." Norman Pearlstine, editor-in-chief of Time Inc., parent company of IPC Media, says: "Wallpaper* is one of only a few magazines which has true global status as well as being one of the most important titles in the design and style sector. I'm confident that Jeremy will further strengthen and develop this brand's presence in these arenas." Wallpaper* was launched in the UK in 1996 and is an established global business. Time Inc. purchased the magazine in 1997 and earlier this year shifted responsibility for the Wallpaper* brand and its related publishing activities to IPC Media, following its acquisition of the UK's largest consumer magazine publisher in October last year. IPC Media is the UK's leading consumer magazine publisher, comprising a portfolio of almost 100 magazine brands and occupying the number one position in 16 of the sectors in which it operates. The company is focused on five core areas: Women; Home & Garden; Leisure; Men's Entertainment & Lifestyle; and TV. Time Inc. is the world's pre-eminent magazine publisher. It is also a leading direct marketer of music and video products. Time Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AOL Time Warner Inc., the world's first Internet-powered media and communications company, whose industry-leading businesses include interactive services, cable systems, publishing, music, networks and filmed entertainment.
