Ticketmaster's Citysearch Local Guides to Offer AOL Moviefone's Market-Leading Movie Ticketing Services Ticketmaster's Match.com To Be The Premier Provider of Personals To Love@AOL; Match.com To Be Offered Across The AOL Service, AOL.COM, CompuServe and Netscape.com DULLES, VA and LOS ANGELES, CA, March 21, 2001 - America Online, Inc., the world's leading interactive services company, and Ticketmaster, the world's leading ticketing and access company, today announced a major strategic alliance to provide greater access to event ticketing, movie ticketing, and personals services for online consumers. Under the multi-year agreement: Ticketmaster's event ticketing services will be distributed to users of all America Online brands through a new "AOL Box Office By Ticketmaster," that will offer consumers an extensive inventory of tickets to concerts, theater and sporting events, performing arts and more. Ticketmaster's local city guides will offer AOL Moviefone's market-leading movie information and ticketing. Ticketmaster's Match.com will be the premier provider of personals to America Online's Love@AOL, and the Match.com service will be offered across AOL, AOL.COM, CompuServe and Netscape.com. "This joint initiative marks the first time America Online and Ticketmaster have worked together, and we believe it represents a new era for the areas in which we will collaborate," said John Pleasants, president and CEO of Ticketmaster. "By combining our event information and ticketing transaction capability with AOL's unparalleled audience, we substantially increase our ticketing distribution network. For Citysearch's three million users, the addition of AOL Moviefone's movie ticketing services adds the convenience of purchasing movie tickets online to our complete guide of where to go and what to do in your city. In addition, given Match.com and Love@AOL's leadership positions in the personals business, I believe our combined reach will provide our users with an even larger database of people to meet online and should solidify our position as the leader in the online personals space." "We are pleased to partner with Ticketmaster to offer our users the AOL Box Office By Ticketmaster -- a one-stop service for consumers to plan their entertainment night out," said Donn Davis, President of AOL Interactive Properties. "The combination of our extraordinary brands creates the ultimate experience for people looking for local entertainment choices. With the AOL Box Office, consumers will have the definitive solution for planning their entertainment night out--from information to ticketing--all in AOL's hallmark, easy to use, convenient package." Event Ticketing Alliance Ticketmaster will increase the distribution of its ticketing services and its extensive inventory through the new "AOL Box Office By Ticketmaster." The Box Office will give users of several America Online brands access to Ticketmaster's offering of tickets to concerts, theatre and sporting events, performing arts and more at over 5,000 venues nationally. The Box Office will provide all AOL users with one-click access to one of the broadest lineups of entertainment events in the world -- concerts, sports, family events and more -- from premier ticketing partner Ticketmaster; movies from AOL Moviefone; and additional events from other AOL partners. The Box Office will be accessible on all of America Online's interactive brands, including the flagship AOL service and AOL's local brands, including Moviefone, Digital City, and MapQuest. AOL Box Office users will be able to find detailed information about the Ticketmaster event of their choice by category, venue, or date, and will be able to purchase tickets seamlessly through a co-branded site. Online consumers also will have access to tickets for selected Ticketmaster events throughout the year in advance of the general public through exclusive Box Office pre-sale events. Ticketmaster sold more than 83 million tickets in 2000 valued at approximately $3.3 billion, through approximately 3,500 retail Ticket Center outlets, 16 worldwide telephone call centers, and ticketmaster.com. By offering access to the more than 31 million combined AOL and CompuServe members and the tens of millions of additional users of America Online's Web-based brands, Ticketmaster will significantly increase its online distribution. Movie Ticketing Alliance AOL Moviefone will distribute its market-leading movie ticketing services to users of Ticketmaster's Citysearch guides, a leading online local network. Citysearch provides users with complete proprietary local information about where to go and what to do their city, from restaurants to hot new jazz clubs, and then lets them take action such as buying a ticket or making a reservation. In addition to access to Ticketmaster.com's premier event ticketing, Citysearch users will have the added benefit of comprehensive and easy access to purchase tickets to a movie theater nearby through AOL Moviefone. The movie ticket inventory will also be made available to consumers via Citysearch's wireless applications for PDAs, WAPs and other general wireless delivery vehicles. AOL Moviefone, the #1 movie ticketing and information service, offers advance ticket sales for its estimated more than 85% of the movie screens nationwide that offer remote ticketing and serves 1 in 5 moviegoers. Now, Citysearch users will have one-click access to AOL Moviefone movie ticketing online. Personals Alliance Match.com will be the premier provider of personals for Love@AOL, and the Match.com service will be offered across AOL, AOL.COM, CompuServe and Netscape.com, providing Love@ users access to Match.com's personals, as well as Match.com's matching services and quality content, through a special customized site created for users of the America Online brands. Match.com and Love@AOL estimate that they are responsible for arranging relationships for hundreds of thousands of users, including all of the marriages, romances and friendships which have blossomed through these services.
