THE ALL-COMEDY NETWORK CELEBRATES A LANDMARK DECADE OF LAUGHS ON APRIL 1

Ten Years of Groundbreaking Original Programming, Stand-Up, Sketch Comedy, Classic Comedy Series And Movies And A-List Comedic Talent

Month-Long Celebration Kicks Off With Premiere of "That's My Bush!" on April 4 And Culminates with "The 15th Annual American Comedy Awards" on April 25

NEW YORK — No foolin'! It's been ten years since COMEDY CENTRAL first passed through the coaxial wires on April 1, 1991 to become cable's king of comedy. In celebration of this special anniversary, COMEDY CENTRAL continues its tradition of groundbreaking programming with the premiere of the Trey Parker/Matt Stone sitcom "That's My Bush!" on April 4 and the airing of the "15th Annual American Comedy Awards" on April 25.

"That's My Bush!" centers around the family life of George and Laura Bush, the President's key staff members and various friends and dignitaries that are a part of the Bush's lives. The series will parody the sitcom genre, as the creators of "South Park" choose once again not to play by conventional standards.

In addition, COMEDY CENTRAL, which has just reached the 70 million subscriber mark, has secured the broadcast rights to the star-studded "The 15th Annual American Comedy Awards," to be taped at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on April 22 for telecast on April 25. The 10th anniversary celebration will also include a retrospective look at the past 14 years of the "American Comedy Awards," a behind-the-scenes peek at this year's ceremony, a "Viewer's Choice" special and an in-depth interview with the Career Achievement honoree.

COMEDY CENTRAL's commitment to original cutting-edge program development is greater than ever during its 10th Anniversary Year. In addition to "That's My Bush", several new series are scheduled to launch throughout the year. Five series are being developed for a new weekend late night original programming block that will serve as the development laboratory for series that could later migrate to prime time. Those series include "Let's Shop America," "The After Hours Club," "The Hot Show," "Let's Bowl" and an as yet unnamed pilot that follows the after hours exploits of comedian Dave Attell.

Other prominent new series for 2001 include "Primetime Glick," featuring Martin Short as rotund talkshow host Jiminy Glick and "Comedy Central Sports Presents: The Sweet Spot," a series on golf which stars the Murray brothers. The series follows the adventures of Bill, Brian Doyle, Joel and John from pre-game rituals to the 19th hole as they tee it up at a variety of luxurious golf courses around the country.

In mid-April, COMEDY CENTRAL will also re-launch its new, technologically enhanced, content-driven website comedycentral.com that will extend COMEDY CENTRAL programming brands in a more entertaining and interactive way. The completely redesigned site will feature a bold new homepage that will direct users to several additional "sitelets" or subsites including "TV Shows," "Web Shows" (web originals), "Timewasters" (interactive games), "Community" (user contributed content), "TV Schedule," "Shop" (on-line store) and "Radio" (comedycentralradio.com).

From Tom Servo and Crow, Cartman and Kenny, Jimmy and Adam and Patsy and Edina to Jon Stewart's nightly quips, battling metallic robots, Ben Stein's monotone, foul-mouthed puppet animals and Dr. Katz' couch, COMEDY CENTRAL has always been on the cutting-edge, bringing viewers an eclectic mix of comedy programming. Ranging from the irreverent to the outrageous, the all-comedy network has established itself as the place for the most innovative original programming, combined with the best in stand-up, sketch comedy and classic movies and comedy series. The network has also been a breeding ground for the hottest comedic talent, including Jon Stewart, Chris Rock, Bill Maher, Craig Kilborn, Denis Leary, Jim Breuer and Amy Sedaris.

COMEDY CENTRAL has experienced amazing growth over its ten-year history, becoming one of the most popular networks in cable and one of the most powerful brands in comedy. From its earliest original programs ("Mystery Science Theater 3000," "Night after Night with Allan Havey," "Short Attention Span Theater," "Indecision," "Politically Incorrect," "Absolutely Fabulous" and the Emmy Award- winning "Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist") to current shows ("South Park," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "BattleBots," "The Man Show," "Strip Mall," "Win Ben Stein's Money" and "TV Funhouse"), COMEDY CENTRAL has always provided a unique and varied programming lineup. It has become the network where comedians, writers and producers can find the freedom to explore new avenues of comedic concept, content and format.

During the past decade, the network has broken barriers and set trends in cable and broadcast television. In 1993, COMEDY CENTRAL premiered "Out There," the first all-gay and lesbian comedy special ever presented on television. The network was also the first marketer to use "death" in advertising in a promotional campaign called "We're All Going to Die: Watch Comedy Central." "Win Ben Stein's Money" was a hit well before the prime time game show craze that begot "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire." In 1998, "South Park" received an 8.6 rating, the highest rated series episode in basic cable history and launched a land rush of prime time animation development. After being turned down by virtually every other American network, the BBC's "Absolutely Fabulous" becomes a sensation on COMEDY CENTRAL, as America fell in love with those boozing, bawdy broads, Patsy and Edina. Network television jumped on the bandwagon to develop similar themed shows with female leads such as "High Society" and "Cybil."

COMEDY CENTRAL has enjoyed continued success with its acquired programming, including the comedy classics "Saturday Night Live, "The Kids in the Hall," and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?," among others. Comedy movies have been a staple of the channel since the beginning, and the network will continue its first-window movie licensing strategy by bringing A-list titles to basic cable for the first time, including "High Fidelity," "State and Main," "Rushmore" and "Being John Malkovich."

COMEDY CENTRAL, a registered trademark of Comedy Partners, is a 50-50 joint venture of Time Warner Entertainment Company and Viacom. COMEDY CENTRAL's Internet address is http://www.comedycentral.com
