John Buckley Named Corporate Vice President of AOL Time Warner Inc.

NEW YORK—AOL Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: AOL) announced today that John Buckley will join the company as a corporate vice president, with responsibilities in the areas of corporate positioning and public policy communications. Based in Washington, D.C., Buckley will assume his new position on March 12. He will report to Kenneth B. Lerer, executive vice president of AOL Time Warner.

Buckley, 43, joins AOL Time Warner from Fannie Mae, where he was senior vice president-communications since 1991. Before joining Fannie Mae, he was senior vice president at Robinson, Lake, Lerer and Montgomery from 1989 to 1991.

In 1996, while on leave from Fannie Mae, Buckley was communications director for Robert Dole during his Presidential campaign. Previously, Buckley served as communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, press secretary to Congressman Jack Kemp, and deputy press secretary for the Reagan-Bush 1984 re-election campaign.

Buckley is the author of two comic novels, Statute of Limitations (Simon and Schuster, 1990) and Family Politics (Simon and Schuster, 1988). He received a B.A. degree from Hampshire College in 1979.
