Time Warner Cable has appointed new division presidents for its operations in San Diego, Cal; South Texas; Columbia, S.C.; and Palm Springs/Palm Desert, Cal. Jeffrey Schwall has become division president for San Diego. He had been President of the company's International operations since 1992. Prior to that he was President of Warner Cable's National Division, having joined the company in 1982. Jeffrey King is the new division president of the South Texas group of systems, which includes El Paso and Laredo. He had been President of the Albany, N.Y. division for the past four years, and prior to that was President of the Charlotte, N.C. division. Wayne Knighton is now president of the Columbia division. He had served as President of the Minneapolis division since 1992 and was previously with Cox Cable, having started in the cable industry in 1974. Robert Barlow has been appointed president of the newly-created Palm Springs/Palm Desert operation after having served as General Manager of the St. Petersburg system of the Tampa Bay division. Palm Desert, which was recently acquired in a trade with MediaOne, has been combined with the company's Palm Springs system, which had been part of the San Diego division.
Time Warner Cable owns and manages the country's most advanced, best clustered cable television operations, with 80 percent of its 13 million customers in systems of 100,000 subscribers or more. It is a division of Time Warner Entertainment.
