Carlos Williams Joins Warner Horizon Television as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs

Carlos Williams has been named Senior Vice President, Business Affairs, at Warner Horizon Television (WHTV), it was announced today by WHTV Executive Vice President Craig Erwich.

In this position, Williams will oversee the division's business affairs unit and will supervise the negotiation of agreements with the performers, producers, writers and directors of WHTV's scripted and unscripted primetime series for both the broadcast and cable marketplace. He will report to Erwich.

Current series produced by WHTV include unscripted programs "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew,""The Bachelor,""The Bachelorette,""True Beauty,""High School Reunion,""The Cougar,""Here Come the Newlyweds"and the upcoming "There Goes the Neighborhood,"among others. On the scripted side, WHTV produces the drama "Trust Me,"as well as Jerry Bruckheimer Television's forthcoming new police drama "Dark Blue,"and the political thriller "Rubicon."In total, WHTV has 12 series currently airing or scheduled to debut during 2009.

Williams comes to WHTV from The Walt Disney Company, where he spent nine years in business and legal affairs positions within the organization. Most recently, he was Vice President and Head of Business Affairs for Stage 9 Digital Media, Disney's original content digital studio, where his responsibilities also included operations management as well as assisting in the development of branded programming, sponsorship and other related advertising for Stage 9 content. Prior to Stage 9, Williams served two years as Vice President, Business Affairs, for the ABC Television Network, overseeing business affairs for unscripted series such as "Dancing with the Stars"and "Dance Wars”; primetime series including "Boston Legal,""Ugly Betty"and "Life on Mars,"among others; and specials like the Primetime Emmy® Awards, Country Music Awards, American Music Awards, "New Year's Rockin' Eve"and the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

He also spent four years at ABC Studios (formerly Touchstone Television), rising to Vice President of Business Affairs. He handled business affairs for current series including "Desperate Housewives,""Criminal Minds"and "According to Jim,"among others, as well as for development projects from Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, Mark Gordon, Spyglass Entertainment, Mike Tollin & Brian Robbins, and many more.

Williams began his entertainment career in the Legal Affairs department at ABC, first as an attorney and then as counsel. Before joining Disney, Williams was an associate at the prestigious Paul, Hastings, Janosfky & Walker law firm, based in Los Angeles.

A member of the California Bar Association, Williams earned his juris doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. He graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor of arts in political science. Williams also attended Brown University for two years.
