IPC Headquarters Named Best Corporate Workplace by British Council for Offices IPC Media's corporate headquarters, the Blue Fin Building, has scooped both the regional and national awards for best Corporate Workplace in the British Council for Offices Awards 2008. The Blue Fin Building saw off tough competition from BBC Scotland's HQ, St James's Place, the NFU headquarters and the Innovate Green Office. Now in their seventeenth year, the BCO Awards honour excellence in office spaces across a range of measures, including architecture and clever design solutions. The awards were presented this week at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Park Lane, with over 1,500 property professions gathered to witness the Blue Fin Building clinch both London and National titles. In honouring the Blue Fin Building, the judges said: "Bad buildings weigh down occupiers: good ones raise their spirit. The sense of vibrancy before you even enter Blue Fin shows that it falls into the latter." They added: "The Blue Fin Building works not just as a sustainable icon. It buzzes like a hive." IPC human resources director Dee Mair adds: "This award is a wonderful recognition of a building that we are all proud of. The BCO Awards are amongst the most prestigious in the industry, so to win this national accolade is a tribute to everyone involved in the design, building and fit-out of our fabulous headquarters." IPC Media moved into its new corporate headquarters in 2007. The Blue Fin Building's principal contractors were Allies and Morrison, the architect; Bennett Interior Design, the interior architect; and ISG InteriorExterior the fit-out contractor. The Blue Fin Building is home to some of the most iconic brands in UK media, including NME, Country Life, Look, Marie Claire and What's on TV. Notes to Editors For More Information About The BCO |
