CNNMoney.com Expands Its Reach with a Comprehensive Business Blog Network
November 15, 2006

CNNMoney.com, the world's largest dedicated business and finance Web site, has launched a comprehensive collection of blogs designed to expand its reach online and provide web users with unique perspectives on the world of business and beyond. The Web site now features a total of 20 individual blogs written by staff members of Business 2.0 and FORTUNE magazines, which along with Money and FORTUNE Small Business are part of the Time Inc. Business & Finance Network.

The core of this new initiative is a publication-wide strategy for Business 2.0, developed by Editor Josh Quittner, in which each staffer has been commissioned to create their own unique blog based on their professional area of expertise and personal interests. The blogs are currently housed on an über blog entitled, Business 2.0 BETA (http://blogs.business2.com/) and linked to CNNMoney.com which provides an array of logistical and advertising support.

B2 BETA, which is edited by Quittner, is frequently updated with select headlines from the network's individual blogs. In addition, CNNMoney.com will feature select news items directly from the Business 2.0 blog network to enhance its already comprehensive coverage of the business and financial community. The Business 2.0 BETA site includes the following blogs:

"Business 2.0 BETA allows us to speak to a greater audience and provide content in whatever way users choose to consume it," said Quittner. "This network of blogs gives us an opportunity to have daily interactions with a whole new and passionate community of readers while complementing the established distribution channels for Business 2.0 in print and online at CNNMoney.com."

CNNMoney.com has also recently launched a pair of blogs authored by two writers from FORTUNE magazine. Roger Parloff, a senior editor for Fortune magazine authors "Legal Pad," (http://money.cnn.com/blogs/legalpad/) which focuses on legal issues of importance to the business community, and is geared for lawyers and non-lawyers alike. Parloff practiced law for five years in Manhattan before becoming a full-time journalist.

Additionally, Justin Fox, an editor at large for FORTUNE who covers the broad world of economics, pens "The Curious Capitalist," (http://money.cnn.com/blogs/curiouscapitalist/) which offers commentary on the economy, the markets, and the strange ways of business. These new blogs follow the successful May 2006 launch of "The Browser," (http://money.cnn.com/blogs/browser/) a bi-coastal blog covering the world of technology co-written by Owen Thomas, Online Editor of Business 2.0 in San Francisco, CA, and Oliver Ryan, Reporter for FORTUNE in New York.

"Blogs have increasingly become a popular interactive outlet for users to access news and information on a daily basis," said Chris Peacock, Editor and Vice President of CNNMoney.com. "Rolling out such an elaborate group of blogs, along with the recent launch of high-quality video content, is further example of our commitment in becoming the premier digital/web destination for industry coverage.
