A Passion for the PassionateMy current role is Senior Manager, People Development, Time Warner. I'm focused on providing leadership development to the senior levels of all of the Time Warner businesses, mainly through cross-divisional programs and initiatives. There two things for me that separate Time Warner from other companies; firstly the people. It sounds like a cliché (especially from someone in People Development), but the majority of people in this business are positive, energetic, intelligent and friendly - and they love what they do. This leads to my second point, which is that I cannot think of another company in the world that has such an exciting portfolio of content and technology businesses at the forefront of some really exciting changes in our industries. There is so much opportunity and diversity here - it's a company you can feel really proud of and excited to work for. When your job is part of lanching a new magazine, marketing the latest Harry Potter movie, running a TV channel or determining the future of the internet, why would you not be passionate? The OneA memorable time while working for Time Warner is seeing Keanu Reeves up close at the London film premiere of Matrix II. My colleagues and I were given some late tickets and were sitting in the back row of the Odeon in Leicester Square - which is where all the stars wait before going on stage for the premiere. Keanu smiled and winked at us all on the way back to his seat, or at least that's what we thought! It was a star-struck moment!! |
