Internal Mobility

I was very happy working at Southern Living in Alabama, and really had no plans or desire to move. I had my dream job. But when my husband was transferred to London with his firm, I became aware of the world of opportunity open to me as an employee of Time Warner. Even though I was moving for personal reasons, I was very glad to be working in an environment that is so supportive of internal moves.

The tranfer to London was surprisingly easy. As soon as I knew that my husband had to move, my Human Resources director at Southern Progress Corporation contacted a colleague in London, and within one day I'd already scheduled my first phone interview! The Human Resources and administrative teams each worked diligently to ensure my transition went smoothly. Everyone was incredibly helpful and supportive.

The Best of Big and Little

One memorbale moment for me was attending my first Southern Living sales conference, only a few months after joining the company. I recall it being an eye-opening experience for me to see so many people who truly enjoyed their jobs. Many of those present had worked for Southern Living or Time Warner for twenty or thirty years. It is often said that individuals are nothing more than a number at big companies, but that experience demonstrated to me that Time Warner is an exception.

At Time Warner, I can benefit from the many resources, perks and opportunities that working at a large company provides, while maintaing the "small company feel" at my divisional level.
