Cartoon Network has teamed with Capy Games to translate OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes from the television screen to your gaming console, and the result, OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes, arrives on Playstation January 23.
OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes—about a kid and his hero friends working at a convenience store—is the brainchild of Ian Jones-Quartey and features the adventures of K.O., who dreams of leveling up so he can be just like the heroes he admires.
The game follows K.O. as he punches, slide-kicks, combos and power-moves his way through hordes of evil-doers on an epic quest to save Lakewood Plaza Turbo from the maniacal Lord Boxman. In this story-driven adventure game meets action-packed cartoon brawler, players level up stats to unlock powerful new fight moves, collect the cards of their favorite Plaza characters and then call them into battle to unleash off-the-wall attacks across tons of crazy quests.
"The basic idea for the game came from a couple of great hangouts where we geeked out about games we love, weird gameplay concepts and ideas for jokes. We immediately invited Capy into the animation process, so they could understand the characters and see where we were headed. It became a true collaboration, with Capy integrating many of our ideas into the game, while the show team found similar inspiration in many of Capy’s ideas. In the end, Capy created an awesome game, with a storyline that works on its own," Jones-Quarty wrote on the Playstation Blog.
