Warner Bros.' 12 Strong, based on the book Horse Soldiers by Doug Stanton and real-life events, got it's New York City premiere Tuesday night and the turnout was, well, strong.

Stars Chris Hemsworth, Michael Shannon, Michael Pena and others, along with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, turned out to see the film, which tells the story of a dozen American Special Forces operatives fighting to seize a Taliban-controlled town in Afghanistan soon after September 11, riding into battle on horseback.

See photos from the premiere at NYC's Jazz at Lincoln Center below, and be sure to see 12 Strong when it lands in theaters this Friday.
