Members of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences gathered in Hollywood last night for the Emmy Awards, and once again HBO won day (or, rather, night) with ten awards: 

  • Best Comedy Series – Veep
  • Best Actress in a Comedy Series - Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep)
  • Best Limited Series - Big Little Lies
  • Best Actress in a Limited Series or a Television Movie - Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies)
  • Best Actor in a Limited Series or a Television Movie - Riz Ahmed (The Night Of)
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Television Movie - Alexander Skarsgard (Big Little Lies)
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or a Television Movie - Laura Dern (Big Little Lies)
  • Best Directing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special - Jean-Marc Vallée (Big Little Lies)
  • Best Variety Talk Series - Last Week Tonight With John Oliver
  • Best Writing for a Variety Series - Last Week Tonight With John Oliver

As icing on the evening's cake, Warner Bros.-produced The Voice won its third Emmy for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program.
