In what has become an annual tradition, Time Warner divisions are setting out to rock the boat (literally, in some instances) this weekend at New York Comic Con. From Westworld to Wonder Woman, the Big Apple will be jam-packed with can't-miss demos, events, launched, and panels from across the TW family.
Visit the New York Comic Con website for full program information, and check out some top highlights below of what to expect -- for those fortunate enough to be there in person.
HBO's new original series Westworld -- riding high in the ratings following its debut -- arrives at the Hammerstein Ballroom at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 9. Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will be joined by cast members Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, and Jimmi Simpson, for an advance screening of episode 2, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.
On Friday, Oct. 7, Cartoon Network will present back-to-back panels featuring fan favorites: Regular Show and Steven Universe. Fans can bid adieu to one of Cartoon Network’s longest-running series at the Regular Show panel, featuring creator JG Quintel, at 10:30 a.m., and then stick around for Steven Universe at 11:30 a.m. to see creator Rebecca Sugar and a glimpse of never-before-seen footage. Sugar will also talk about her new book, The Answer. Both events will be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Over at the Javits Center, Adult Swim has three different booths and is also broadcasting some streaming favorites, including FishCenter, Stupid Morning Bulls--t, Williams St. Swap Shop, and Development Meeting. Rick and Morty is also debuting two new booths, including one with virtual reality.
On Friday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. ET. a panel from Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell will discuss the new live-action workplace comedy, coming from co-creators Casper Kelly (Too Many Cooks) and Dave Willis (Squidbillies). Then, fans can power up with The Powerpuff Girls beginning at 5:15 p.m. ET for a live table read performance along with a sneak peek at upcoming episodes.
On Saturday night, some lucky fans will take the party to the Hudson River with free tickets to Adult Swim's Tyrannic Third Maiden Voyage.
Warner Bros. & DC Entertainment
The DC Entertainment booth will offer fans a rare glimpse at costumes and props from the upcoming Wonder Woman feature film -- including the costume donned by star Gal Gadot -- along with the original costume worn by Lynda Carter in the 1970s “Wonder Woman” television series. There will also be a “Wonder Woman 75” panel (Friday, October 7 at 5:15 p.m. ET) in honor of the iconic Amazonian's 75th anniversary, with comic book talent that includes including Marc Andreyko, José Luis García-López, Yanick Paquette, Greg Rucka, Jill Thompson, Cat Staggs and Shea Fontana.
Download the new DC All Access mobile app for a complete list of panels, talent signings and behind-the-scenes coverage, and visit the DC site for a full rundown of New York Comic Con events. The app is available for free at the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
