DC’s line-wide publishing relaunch, DC Universe: Rebirth, kicks off today. Written by comic book icon Geoff Johns (Flash: Rebirth, Green Lantern: Rebirth, Justice League) with art from an all-star cast of collaborators including Gary Frank (Batman: Earth One), Ethan Van Sciver (Green Lantern, Ivan Reis (Aquaman) and Phil Jimenez (Wonder Woman), this 80-page blockbuster sets the stage for a June line-wide relaunch of 17 twice-monthly titles and 14 monthly titles.

Johns himself took to the set of Late Night with Seth Meyers last night to describe the relaunch.

“I look down at it and know without question: I love this world.”

“But there’s something missing…”

With these words, one of the forgotten characters from the DC Universe (DCU) begins his final quest to make his way home, to not be forgotten by Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the heroes of the DCU, as well as the people he loves, who have no idea that he even existed. In this rebirth, the story weaves a larger tapestry that features DC heroes such as Superman (not the one you think), Aquaman, Green Arrow and Blue Beetle among others, with stories that will each play out in their own titles as Rebirth extends into the summer and beyond.

And it's not just the late night crowd that's buzzing about the DCU (though they were bolstered by dozens of midnight release parties); USA Today, The Hollywood Reporter and even The Wall Street Journal have all taken note of the changes underway for the world's most iconic superheroes.

This was already a big week for DC Entertainment. On TuesdayDC Universe: The Exhibit opened to the public at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood.
