Sometimes the work a news organization does behind the scenes is every bit as important as the work it does in the public spotlight.
While CNN was in Flint, Michigan for Sunday's Democratic primary debate, employees made a committment to help the people of Flint.
In partnership with locally based Convoy of Hope, more than 50 CNN staffers headed into the community on Saturday morning to distribute more than 100,000 bottles of water to residents who desperately need it. They went to churches and homes, and met the families and children who need help. The on-the-ground effort was just part of a 500,000 bottle donation CNN has made in Flint, the rest of which will be distributed over the next month.
