This year's 22nd Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, airing live on TNT and TBS this Saturday, offers viewers an expanded digital and social media experience through a variety of platforms.
Once again, TNT and TBS are teaming up with People.com for a live webcast of the Red Carpet Pre-Show on sagawards.tntdrama.com, sagawards.org and People.com. Coverage begins Saturday at 6 p.m. ET, leading to the live television broadcast on both TNT and TBS.
The digital experience includes a behind-the-scenes play-by-play before and during the ceremony–using the hashtag #sagawards–provided by a team of social media influencers, headed by this year's social media ambassador, Katie Lowes. Lowes will highlight interative functions and offer viewers an inside look at the event, including pre-event production, showroom, set designs, and more through her Twitter (@KatieQLowes), Facebook (KatieQuinnLowes) and Instagram (@ktwlowes) handles. Additionally, fans will be able to get up close and personal with celebrities through Twitter's new interactive Challenger app.
Amy Poehler's #SmartGirlsAsk initiative will join the red-carpet, asking questions and supplying real-time answers.
The Red Carpet Pre-Show will run live on Times Square's billboard in New York City, including on 10 subway billboards. TBS and TNT subscribers also can watch through the networks' websites and mobile apps.
