Beginning June 7 at 8 p.m. ET, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) presents TCM Movie Camp, a new, summer-long series aimed at young adults and future filmmakers.
Hosts William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, Oscar®-winning filmmakers and co-founders of Moonbot Studios, guide audiences through great films and landmark movie moments during the series, which airs Sundays this summer. In addition to their hosting duties, Joyce and Oldenburg created a new animated opening and special content that will appear on TCM social platforms.
"Our goal with TCM Movie Camp is to bring a new audience to the network and to inspire their interest in classic films at a young age," said Charles Tabesh, senior vice president of programming for TCM. "We are thrilled to be able to bring our fans this new series and work with Bill and Brandon to offer great insight into the movie making process that will hopefully inspire future filmmakers.”
The TCM Movie Camp kicks off with Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), which broke new ground for the science fiction genre in its exploration of the UFO phenomena.
