Over the weekend, Inherent Vice, Paul Thomas Anderson's adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon novel, premiered at the New York Film Festival.

The film, which opens in theaters December 12, takes viewers on a journey into a kidnapping case with private eye Doc Sportello, played by Joaquin Phoenix. The A-list cast also includes Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio Del Toro, Jena Malone, Maya Rudolph and Martin Short.
