Brace yourselves, because I'm talking about Dolphin Tale 2, Warner Bros.' ultimate family film, and Whitey Bulger, Boston's most notorious gangster, in the same post. The former is swimming (sorry, couldn't resist) into theaters today, and the latter is coming to CNN Thursday.

Ashley Judd and Harry Connick Jr. turned out for the L.A. premiere of Dolphin Tale 2 earlier this week. Have you seen the pictures? Watch the "Look Who's Running the Show" featurette below and head to the theaters this weekend.

Whitey is the subject of CNN Films' WHITEY: United States of America v. James J. Bulger premiering September 18. The revelatory nonfiction feature film follows the sensational 2013 trial of the notorious mob boss and includes the voice of James Bulger himself, in his first-ever media interview.

Sticking with the non-fiction theme, Alan Alda and the Actor Within You: A YoungArts Masterclass airs Tuesday on HBO. Emmy and Golden Globe winner Alan Alda leads six talented young actors through a series of improvisational workshops, guiding them to discover new approaches in bringing a script to life.

Rewind for a minute. Bill Maher's 10th solo stand-up comedy special for HBO, Real Time with Bill Maher: Live from D.C., airs tonight at 10 p.m. And it's part of a double-feature.

Beginning Monday evening, TCM celebrate the life and career of legendary actress  Lauren Bacall with a 24-hour marathon. The tribute opens with a look at Bacall's extraordinary life and career with the TCM original Private Screenings: Lauren Bacall, a fascinating, in-depth conversation with the star hosted by Robert Osborne from 2005.
