Adult Swim Gets Upfront and Comical

9 May 2014 - By TW Staff

This morning Adult Swim—basic cable's #1 network with young adults for nearly a decade—announced its slate of new and returning programs in advance of its annual Upfront presentation, which happens in New York City May 14.

Joining returning hits Rick and Morty, The Boondocks and Childrens Hospital is an as-yet-untitled sitcom featuring Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (yes, you read that right) created by Robert Smigel (SNL, TV Funhouse, Conan), Michael Koman (Eagleheart, Nathan For You) and David Feldman (Real Time, Dennis Miller Live). Also coming are live-action pilots from Daniel Stessen and John Krasinski, DREAM CORP LLC, and Jon Glaser’s Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter.

Later this summer and fall, you can look forward to a number of series and special premieres, including the animated Mike Tyson Mysteries (featuring—you guessed it—Mike Tyson solving mysteries with the help of the ghost of the Marquess of Queensbury, his adopted teenage daughter and a pigeon...who was once a man), Mr. Pickles and Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories.

You can learn more here, but in the meantime you'll want to empty your DVR to make room.
