The 2013 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is now in full swing. This morning, TBS funnyman Conan O’Brien sat with CNN’s Anderson Cooper for the "What Connects in Comedy" seminar, presented by Time Warner. During the seminar Conan shared his experiences and thoughts on using social media to connect with audiences and create brand awareness across digital platforms. While the TV icons held forth stage, another conversation about their dialogue unfolded on Twitter:

Jeff Bewkes, Time Warner Chairman and CEO introduced the duo by noting that despite Anderson coming from CNN and Conan from comedy, both men are icons: “When the whole world is on a first name basis with someone, that's an icon.”

Conan then got into the power of technology and social media by giving examples of how just one digital message can create very real outcomes.

And of course Conan wouldn’t be Conan if things didn’t get a little silly. During the discussion the late-night star cracked some jokes, including noting that he and Anderson were the “the two whitest people in the south of France.”
