It’s no small matter protecting the copyrights to the astonishing variety and quantity of compelling content that is produced and distributed by Time Warner’s divisions: Turner Broadcasting, Warner Bros., HBO and Time Inc. And the folks who do this have been recognized for their excellence: earlier this week, Managing Intellectual Property magazine named Time Warner’s legal team the In-House Copyright Team of the Year at its North America Awards. The award was presented during a ceremony in Washington, D.C., where outstanding firms and individuals who work in intellectual property across the United States and Canada are honored for their achievements.
The editorial staff at Managing Intellectual Property said they selected Time Warner as the In-House Copyright Team of the Year to recognize the work of copyright and deal lawyers across the company and its divisions who navigate difficult copyright issues and innovative licensing deals.
